KIWER has been honored with a prestigious project by the Ministry of Environment to develop a sophisticated cadastre for hazardous waste and chemicals, integrated within the Waste Management Information System administered by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency. This endeavor entails creating a cutting-edge web application to house the cadastre, aligning seamlessly with the requirements outlined in the EC framework and ECHA standards.
The primary objectives of this initiative are to facilitate regulatory compliance, elevate data management and reporting capabilities, and foster informed decision-making in the realm of hazardous waste and chemical management. The web application will streamline reporting processes for various stakeholders, including hazardous waste manufacturers, holders, transporters, licensed waste operators, as well as manufacturers, traders, importers, and users of chemicals.
This comprehensive reporting mechanism, conducted annually through the online platform, adheres strictly to legal and regulatory mandates such as the REACH Directive, CLP Directive, Waste Framework Directive, EU Waste List, and Kosovo Waste Law. By leveraging this application, the Agency will gain advanced capabilities to analyze, verify, and process data, thereby fulfilling their legal obligations and responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
