KIWER has been granted a prestigious contract by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Prishtina to spearhead the transformative project “Enhancing Financial Sustainability of the Regional Water” as part of the Rural Water and Sanitation Support Programme – Phase IV. This strategic initiative is designed to offer comprehensive technical assistance to all water and sewerage companies across Kosovo, with the aim of enhancing their operational, financial, and service performance, thereby contributing significantly to overall financial sustainability.
The project will strategically target various critical areas, including the enhancement of billing systems, reduction of water losses, optimization of water balance, revision of service fees, implementation of a robust Management Information System (MIS), improvement of asset management practices, and enhancement of customer service standards. Through these strategic interventions, the project will assist companies in laying the foundational groundwork for conducting technical audits of water losses, utilizing the globally recognized IWA methodology and adhering to guidelines set forth by the American Water Association (AWWA).
This comprehensive approach underscores Kiwer’s commitment to driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in the regional water sector, thereby contributing significantly to Kosovo’s broader development goals in water and sanitation management.
