KIWER was assigned the task of assisting the Regional Waste Collection Companies,
Ambienti Peja and Uniteti Mitrovica, in implementing full cost accounting for landfill services. This involved establishing separate cost, revenue, and asset centers for landfill activities, distinct from other activities of the utilities. The project developed forms for calculating landfill costs using full life cycle accounting principles, determining gate fees, and recommending appropriate financing mechanisms.
