KIWER was tasked to develop a comprehensive cadastre for hazardous waste and chemicals that meets the requirements of the EC framework and ECHA, facilitates regulatory compliance, enhances data management and reporting capabilities, and supports informed decision-making in hazardous waste and chemical management. The cadastre was developed by the contractor, KIWER, as a web application. Reporting parties, including hazardous waste manufacturers, holders, transporters, and other licensed waste operators, as well as manufacturers, traders, importers, and users of chemicals, are required to report their hazardous waste and chemicals annually through the online platform. This reporting is in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements such as the REACH Directive, the CLP Directive, the Waste Framework Directive, the EU Waste List, and Kosovo Waste Law. The application enables the Agency to analyze, verify, and process this data to fulfill their legal mandates and responsibilities.
